Overalls well preserved heater and a very nice accessory ready to finish installing your classic Chevy. The three heater air diverts work. Sold in as is condition. Note: the air diverts need new rubber bushings or grommets as originals are cracked, stiff and in poor condition see last picture.
Shaft does not bind, spins freely, no wobble or looseness due to bad bearings. Note: the pencil also points to a broken mounting stud that will need be repaired. Heater core outer appearance in good condition. While I have provided an honest assessment of the heaters current condition, due to its decades old age and unknown history, make no guarantees.
I found only one shallow dent, easy repair see third from last picture. It does not leak. Note: the heater decal that is attached to the front housing missing. Core was flushed, water came out clear, not rusty.
No major rust issues. Front housing has nice smooth metal with a small area of surface rust pitting. Delco heater motor bench tested, works. Part number H-173.
Heater manufactured by Harrison. All other metal parts glass bead media cleaned - cleaned up nicely with no rust issues. Back of housing has mostly smooth metal but there is some rust pitting where heater tubes go through tube support bracket see second from last picture. Heater disassembled, most old paint and surface rust glass bead media cleaned, inspected, bench tested.
